Two free Illustrated Talks on the Mulkear River and Nature Conservation

As part of a large European funded programme to aid nature conservation in the River Mulkear Catchment, there are two illustrated talks open to the public later this month.

Mary O’Rourke TD to address Shannon Protection Alliance public meeting in Limerick

The Shannon Protection Alliance is to hold a public meeting on Thursday, September 9th at 8pm sharp in the Shannon Suite, Limerick Strand Hotel, Limerick, to raise awareness of the proposals by Dublin City Council to extract water from the River Shannon at high volumes and pipe it to Dublin.

Shannon Protection Alliance

You are invited to a meeting of the Limerick Branch (in formation) of the Shannon Protection Alliance. The Shannon Protection Alliance (SPA) was established as a response to proposals by Dublin City Council to extract water from the river Shannon at a rate of some five million litres per day, and to pipe it directly to Dublin for domestic, commercial, and industrial consumption.
