The Green Party have announced their candidate for this month’s General Election. Sheila Cahill, a resident of O’Callaghan Strand, stated that she was putting forward her name “to give the people of Limerick an opportunity to vote for sustainable policies and clean politics”.
Sheila runs her own business based in Limerick providing training and consultancy to community and voluntary groups around the country.
In launching her campaign, Sheila has criticised the “crazy” level of spending by candidates in the city. “Fine Gael will spend over €2 million in this election, much of it donated by big companies who clearly expect a return on their investment”. Sheila has committed to publishing all her election expenses on her website at http://limerickvotegreen.com/expenses and has called on all candidates to do the same in order to “restore the public’s faith in politics”. — I am using the free version of SPAMfighter.
