City councillors vow to fight Brosnan plan

CITY manager Tom Mackey and Mayor Maria Byrne are to travel to Dublin in the coming days to plead with the government not to accept controversial proposals to unify Limerick’s local authorities.

And the campaign to give the city a boundary extension, instead of a single local authority, could take to the streets, with councillors planning to make their feelings known when Environment Minister John Gormley comes to the city next Friday to reopen the Milk Market.
